Looking for our new Social Media Manager for VASTA
After four years of serving in this role, Foster Johns will be stepping down as VASTA’s Social Media Manager. We are so grateful for the service he has provided over his tenure in this position. We are sad to see Foster step down, but are excited to invite an interested volunteer to fill his role. Here are some details about the position:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Understanding of accessibility in social media (can be trained)
- Effective skills of written communication
- Understanding of VASTA’s mission and willingness to uphold that vision in our marketing
Responsibilities:
- Post accessibly to our social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) on behalf of VASTA officers & Committees
- May be asked to create ongoing content on our platforms for member engagement
- Manage social media platforms and work with the board as well as the Director of Operations to increase VASTA’s social media presence
- Moderate user comments on VASTA-Sponsored posts with a lens towards EDI
In this volunteer position, you may:
- Work with a team of fellow volunteers throughout the tenure of this position
- Connect with the Board Liaison for Web & Technology Services
- Volunteer 1-2+ hours per week with potential for automating
- Commit to a 2-year (negotiable) term
