The Junior Board is open to VASTA members of any age who identify as being in the early stages of their voice and speech career and/or journey and would like to learn how the association runs by serving on the Board of Directors as a non-voting member for two years. First-year Junior Board Members (JBMs) attend virtual meetings and read the minutes from in-person meetings. Second-year JBMs attend all in-person and virtual board meetings and become more actively involved in the board’s activities. In addition, they are also encouraged to follow areas of interest that they have developed and voice ideas, opinions, and the views of the VASTA members they represent.
VASTA’s mission seeks to represent as many diverse views as possible in order to enrich all our approaches to teaching and coaching voice and speech in education, business, the arts, and the wider community. The Junior Board is open to applicants globally. We specifically encourage applications from historically marginalized voices, including members who identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color, people who are D/deaf, people with disabilities, and/or those from the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
