Smoke & Haze—Science & Safety

Are theatrical atmospherics (smoke, haze, fog) safe? What is in this stuff we inhale during rehearsals and performances? What information do we have now that we didn’t have a few years ago? What are best practices for health and safety when dealing with atmospherics in the theatre?


Join us for an expert presentation by Industrial Hygienist (and experienced performer) Monona Rossol. Among her many credits, Ms. Rossol has been President of Arts, Crafts & Theater Safety since 1986, and since 1995, she has been a Safety Officer for Local USA829, United Scenic Artists, IATSE. She served as the Safety Consultant at SAG-AFTRA in 2017.
