EDIA+ Conference Travel Scholarship:

Conference Dates: October 14-18, 2026
Funds to be used for the 2026 Annual Conference (Pomona, California)

VASTA as an organization values hearing the voices and ideas of a diverse group of practitioners. This scholarship aims to provide a financially accessible opportunity for voice and speech practitioners from underrepresented or historically marginalized populations with interest in attending the VASTA Conference.

VASTA will offer two of the following awards for the 2026 in-person conference:

  • $1250 scholarship
  • A waived conference fee per scholarship recipient
  • One year free membership to VASTA per recipient

Applicants need not be current VASTA members.


You are eligible for the VASTA Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility+ Conference Travel Scholarship if:

  • You identify as a member of an underrepresented and/or historically marginalized group (including, but not limited to race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability).
  • Have the financial need to travel to the conference.
  • Have not attended more than one VASTA conference.

To apply, please complete the form below by May 1, 2026. Award recipients will be notified by mid-June.


Applications will be reviewed and voted on by members of VASTA's EDIA+ Team, in consultation with the Awards & Grants Committee. In the case of a tie, the EDIA+ Director will make a final decision. Scholarship recipients will be asked to write a post-conference article for the VASTA Voice newsletter about their experience. Scholarship recipients will also be invited to serve on the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility+  Team.
